Curly Hair Shampoo That Cleans Without Stripping

Choosing the right shampoo makes a real difference to how curls behave on wash day and beyond. That is why at Only Curls we create shampoos that cleanse gently without disrupting the moisture your curls need to look and feel their best. Every formula is designed to work with your natural curl texture and pattern, not against it, so your curls can do what they do naturally.

Our sulphate-free shampoo for curly hair is paraben-free, vegan and made in the UK, so you are starting your routine on a clean, reliable foundation. The collection covers a range of cleansing needs, from an everyday shampoo for regular wash days to a clarifying option for when curls need a deeper reset, and a purple shampoo for blonde and silver curls. Whether your hair is wavy, curly or coily, there is a shampoo here to suit your routine.

Shop our curly hair shampoo for clean, balanced curls from the very first step.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Only Curls shampoo different from a regular shampoo?

+

Our Curl Cleanser is sulfate-free, which means it gently cleanses without stripping the natural oils your curls need to stay hydrated and defined. Traditional shampoos often contain harsh sulfates that can leave curly hair dry, frizzy and prone to breakage.

Is your shampoo suitable for coloured or tinted hair?

+

Yes! Our sulfate-free Curl Cleanser is gentle on colour-treated hair. sulfates are one of the main culprits for stripping hair colour, so switching to our cleanser can actually help your colour last longer while keeping your curls in great condition.

How often should I wash my curly hair?

+

Curly hair generally doesn't need washing as frequently as straight hair. Most curlies wash 2–3 times a week, though this varies. Coily hair can go longer. Between washes, our Refresh Spray is brilliant for reviving curls.

Is the shampoo safe to use during pregnancy?

+

Our products are free from sulfates, parabens and silicones. However, we always recommend checking the ingredient list with your GP or midwife if you have any specific concerns during pregnancy. Our fragrance-free range is also available for those who are particularly sensitive.

My hair feels greasy after washing. Am I using too much product?

+

If your hair feels heavy or greasy, it is usually a sign that a little too much product was used in the styling step. Start with a small amount of curl creme and build up from there, as this is our most hydrating product. Our curl gel is lighter, so you can be a bit more generous with that one. Also make sure you are applying styling products to very wet hair, as this helps them distribute evenly and prevents that heavy feeling.
